Zurich wins the Desafío AUDI

Sunday, 16 September 2007: Zurich scored another victory in the Spanish GP42 racing circuit, after today’s win at the 7th Desafío AUDI that took place in Sanxenxo. The event saw 5 yachts of the Spanish GP42 fleet race in light wind on Friday and Saturday while the lack of it kept the crews grounded on the closing day.

Jan Santana's boat, with Jordi Calafat on the helm and Pepe Ribes at the bow, won only one of the event's four races but finished on the top of the leaderboard due to its consistency, always crossing the line among the top two. Canarias Puerto Calero scored two victories in the four races but was unable to claim the overall leadership after finishing last in the event's last race. Third place overall went to Quum Marketing.

Although the international racing circuit has ended, the Spanish championship still has one evnt, the 6th Trofeo Cesar Manrique Puerto Calero in Lanzarote from the 16th to the 20th of October.
